Our humble beginnings began when Mr. Russ Brown started his career at Whole Foods. Whole Foods maintains superior quality food and food products that unfortunately when they don't meet those standards are otherwise disposed of. This afforded an opportunity to prevent waste and support those in our community. Seeing this opportunity, to help others with our 501 (c) Mr. Brown decided to act. Upon completing all the requirements needed to stay compliant for Whole Foods donations, he decided to utilize the opportunity afforded by the Saturday food donations. It was decided to set up a food bank in Mr. Brown's office, that already housed a freezer and refrigerator for storage.  We started donating the food to individuals and families locally within Kent, Ionia and Ingham counties in Michigan. We started the food bank back in September and have since been able to help over 400 individuals and over 125 families by providing weekly food donations. We are blessed to be able to have the opportunity to help others and feed the community. We want to thank Whole Foods for this opportunity, and we look forward to continuing to serve the community!
